The part about the article not being peer reviewed is fine. But bringing up that the authors have been pro-gun and are part of the conservative think tank isn't addressing the merits of the article itself.

There have never been more guns in the hands of free and competent legal owners than now . The manufacturers can't keep up with demand .In every U.S. locality with the exception of Marxist controlled polities like Chicago , D.C. ,and California , the violent crime rate has been steadily declining over the last few years .No amount of unfounded claims that more guns mean more crime will stand in the face of reality .Criminals gravitate to the least protected targets . Biden's Gun Free Zones have claimed the record for multiple kills , he is responsible for mass murder in the cause of civilian disarmament .We don't cede to the collective the power to take away our right to Life , which is the right to self defense , and the means to carry it out .The Revolution was fought to retain that right by my direct ancestors and bequeathed to me and will not be relinquished to leftist utopians who wouldn't know how to defend helpless innocents from MTV spawned thugs if the scum shot their way in through the politically correct (Marxist conformity) " Gun Free Zone" posted glass doors .

The progressive (back to the stone age)utopians were in full assault mode 100 years ago . Wilson and his puppet master House were instituting there racist eugenic policies de-integrating the military relegating the black soldiers back to the kitchen . Sanger's plan to ethnically cleanse America through eugenics by birth controlling the untermensch was nascent and the Democrat Jim Crow era was in full swing . The big city Democrat political machines were in their anti-immigrant mode full-on assault on the little peoples' right to bear arms that was the second tier in the history of gun control in America , the first being the racist laws to disarm the freed men after emancipation .

The problem with gun-free zones is that they're not really gun free because the US law allows anyone to buy a gun right next to the gun free zone. It's like declaring a "terrorist free zone" but allowing a suicide vest vending machine right outside of it. The zone is not a solution, because you haven't addressed the root cause. The root cause is the suicide vest vending machine. Likewise, having gun free zones is not the solution because the access to guns is so easy.

While we're on this subject. Osama bin Laden's house didn't get attacked by suicide bombers. And having his own crew of suicide bombers probably helped to deter his political enemies from trying to kill him. But to conclude that the world would be a safer place if everyone gets his/her own crew of suicide bombers would be wrong!
