narcissism is a necessary condition of psychopathy. they're pretty intermingled.

Sigmund Freud defined four parts of a psyche; the id, the ego, the superego and the stratego. The Stratego being the highest form of morality and scientific thinking.
If guns are not outlawed, the in-laws will have guns.

Just a minor clarification about terminology, not really an argument.
Really more concerned with media creating a mythical image of a "highly functional psychopathic criminal genius". Psychopaths can be found in positions of authority, of course, but they are not successful and will ultimately fail because the way they function is not conducive to being an organized, reasonable person.
The facade they create for others is short-lived usually. Once their impulsive selfish behavior asserts itself as it inevitably will whatever they are doing will fail.
