Of course. Like I said for the 1000th time, investigate, charge, etc.

The real court is that of public opinion. Public opinion is what actually rewards or punishes elected officials. And when half the public are brainwashed sheep who think this is all pure bullshit, where is that accountability?

We all know that there aren't going to be charges. There simply isn't enough to make charges stick, and even if there were, the lawyers can tie it up for years and eventually swat it. Failing even that, trump can pardon anyone, and Pence can pardon him if it comes to it.

So "charge them." isn't really an argument. We both know that won't be happening. And we both know that the lack of those charges will not be an indication of innocence or competence, though they will be presented as such, and the whole thing declared a "nothingburger" ad nauseam.

If mass-marketing xenophobia counters populism, perhaps it is a self-defeating mechanism...

Who invents the cute little names for all these phobia's? I don't like people who don't like me. However if they don't get too excessive with their intense dislike for me, I will allow their existence to continue. However if they prove to be excessive in their actions , they will be exterminated. That's the phobia I have, and glad I do. **==

Welcome to politics. We know the population on average is unintelligent and brainwashed. But you do need to remember he is polling at like 36% right now and we are seeing a lot of angry people across the country. Don't act like this is getting swept under the rug, the media won't let it go.

Depends who we are talking about on charges. Some in The Donald's outer orbit could be indicted. Flynn jumps to mind as the front runner.

Stop trying to normalize this.

This is not normal. This isn't "politics as usual", this is a shit show where the old rules and standards and expectations no longer apply. Once upon a time, when a candidate gets caught on tape bragging about sexually assaulting women...he's done. The end. But now? *Cue 'Hail to the Chief' *.

Used to be that the scent of borscht mingling with the aroma of Russian prostitute urine...would be at least somewhat a of a little inconvenience that kinda sorta might be just a tiny, trivial, problem. But now? No worries. Just call it fake news and move on. (I use the piss tape as a euphemism for the entire vast, complicated, continuously unraveling tapestry of the Russia thing. In case that wasn't clear.)

Yeah. People are stupid. This actually is normal. But it used to be that events were disseminated by a press who were basically a check on each other. Who acted as at least a lousy BS filter. They got it wrong sometimes, but mostly it was fairly close. But now officials can simply circumvent the filter, feed straight up lies directly to the voters, and declare any fact checking or accountability fake news. And the people, being mostly stupid, believe it. Being f**k idiots, they think the Russia thing is no big deal, or that it's not even really a thing. Just a tissue of lies.

And the media shouldn't "let it go" fstar! Do you understand how f**k up that would be if they did? It's THEIR JOB to not "let it go"! As long as they don't "let it go", we know that they are at least ostensibly doing what they are meant to be goddamn doing!

But the point is...if the media are simply being disregarded, or slandered as some sort of global fake news conspiracy, then does it really matter? People don't care what they say or what goes under the rug or doesn't. It's all fake, remember?

For years people on this forum have been going on about "the media", the "liberal media", or whatever goddamn stupidity. For years there has been this intentional campaign of erosion of the legitimacy of the institutions of the free press. Which makes sense, right? If you want to do awful things, and want to minimize the backlash from it...work to diminish the structure that disseminates information about it. Right? This has led to people here actively blaming problems on the media reporting things as opposed to sweeping them under the rug. The thing isn't the problem. People talking about it on TV is the problem. Yes? Well here we are. You people shat on the free press for years, and now it's being completely ignored by half the country in favor of outright lies and memes and viral disinformation campaigns via social media.

Well done. Great f**k job.

it's amazing that you'll believe stupid truther bullshit but an actual conspiracy unfolding before your eyes with a REAL paper trail is apparently too ridiculous.

It's easier to believe a lie that is parroted than a truth that is right in front of you.
Deep in the human unconscious is a pervasive need for a logical universe that makes sense. But the real universe is always one step beyond logic. - Frank Herbert
