I don't think it has to be "classless," but every effort should be made to nurture a huge middle class.

Until we can admit to ourselves, accumulation of wealth in such excess that it becomes absured. Until we can admit that, don't expect much to change. I want more, I deserve more, yada yada,yada.

Work is a brutal, boring affair that robs most people of their happiness. Just like how education prepares you for that soul-sucking effect. Yeah, there's a small segment of society that is psychologically-warped and enjoys working, but the very nature of work needs to be challenged to truly achieve any foreseeable liberation.
How we live is completely unnatural to our species and yet we accept it because of a historical and philosophical precedent.
