there's literally one paragraph explaining all of this and it's included in it. there isn't this archaic list of hundreds of pages of rules and this one obscure thing was found at the 11th hour to throw stuff in different direction; it's not "a technicality", it's how the thing functions
the only election that arguably ended in a technicality recently was the VA legislature which was determined by picking a name out of hat, because that was done as there was a literal tie, and that is how the legislature saw fit to fix the issue in the result of a tie

I understand how the EC works, Galt. I realize that trump is rightfully in office according to the system that's in place. I make sure to specifically word my statements in accordance with all of that.
What I'm saying is that he is there against the wishes of the voters. Which, as far as I'm concerned, makes him illegitimate on the grounds of...you know...people voting. I call it a technicality because it should be a fluke that a president "wins" despite losing the vote. But it keeps happening. The American people haven't actually voted a Republican into the White House since 1988. And yet...because the system is intolerably broken, we get Bush and trump.
Like I said before...we need the French model. No more bullshit where we have a giant circus farce of a "vote" where that vote is then immediately nullified. No more people with more or less of a vote than others. Maybe a little democracy would do us some good.

No, I'm simply talking about the election process. Two votes. First one narrows it down to two candidates. Then a runoff. And quickly, without the insane years long, multibillion-dollar circus. I can see why the morally bankrupt prefer to hide behind gerrymandering and overriding the vote...it's beginning to look like Republicans can't make it into the big chair otherwise. We can restructure the rest of the government in some way that disenfranchises the voters another day.

gerrymandering has nothing to do with presidential politics. I don't know what you're on about
