China's "opaque" financial reporting should be enough to limit US Dollars being invested in Chinese companies. I'm for the idea. They are lying slopes with billions flowing into Chinese companies being forwarded to their PLA overlords.

There's a lot more Chinese money in the US than there is US money in China. On top of it - if the US restricts investment in China and we continue to see further liberalization of chinese financial markets (re removing restrictions on foreign investors) our financial institutions could miss out while our peers and our competitors win big.
It's a slimy world out there.

Overused metric. What's China's growth potential? Japan has a high debt to GDP level as well - they're not doing horrible. Also, as in Japan, a lot of the debt is domestically held and was issued as RMB/Yuan (in Japan's case yen).
Don't underestimate China.

Why is October such a bad month for the economy? Weird to think about how cycles work but historically the fall and especially October has served as a good harbinger of what's to come.
Just a random thought.

Hitting the EU now. It's small stuff so far but it's been cleared by the WTO. lol @ airbus planes made in the EU getting tariffs but the ones made in Alabama being tariff free.
