also i really don't think there will be "civil war". i think instead it would be more like the KKK rides again, guerrilla tactics by extremists to disrupt american life. while there is a sizable amount of troops who support Trump i doubt enough would commit treason for him

Executive could levy powers as they did in Portland and elsewhere and corral true believers from different departments. The border patrol is all for Trump and many were deployed to Oregon.

But again - none of that matters because the election will come, on the night of Trump will claim victory, and then cast doubt on the mail in ballots to follow.

And guys - if I'm Putin here's what I do:

- attack all systems of us elections - something stupid like a ddos
- then something a little harmless
- then give Biden a wider lead in the battleground states than he actually won them by. Barr can assert they caught the Russians doing some stupid shit and then exclaim that the numbers in the battleground states look fraudulent

John - US is in steep decline. UST now challenged by joint euro bonds and a rising china. USD to suffer. China is recovering nicely from covid and growth is spiking back. Deficit with US? Near record levels again. Their commitment to phase one trade deal? In tatters.

They have outplayed Trump repeatedly and in the process are becoming more self sufficient. Trump acellerrated that process greatly. And while in office he passed tax cuts while addressing nothing else to help the forgotten man.

This country is so unprepared for this century.

another thing that should happen is appointments shouldn't be tied up for years by the senate majority leader. aside from the supreme court, appointment by law for all other courts can be changed by law and not by constitutional amendment. i'd say perhaps even the president shouldn't be involved but it is a check on the judicial to have the executive and legislative branches involved. however, the legislative branch must be forced into action, and the duties can be split up

change 28 USC §1 to read:
The Supreme Court of the United States shall consist of a Chief Justice of the United States and 14 associate justices, any ten of whom shall constitute a quorum.

change 28 USC, adding §7:
The nomination by president of any appointment to the supreme court shall be heard in the Senate within 60 days of receiving the nomination and within 90 days of the this process the Senate shall hold a vote.

change 28 USC §44 to read:
"(a) The President shall appoint, by and with advice and consent of the Senate Judiciary Committee and House Judiciary Committee which must start the processes within 60 days of nomination and must hold votes within 60 days of starting the process, circuit judges for the several circuits"

change 28 USC §133 to read:
"(a) The President shall appoint, by and with the advice and consent of the House Judiciary Committee which must start the processes within 60 days of nomination and must hold a vote within 30 days of starting the process, district judges for the several judicial districts"
