No they do, not sure if maybe ad block or something is messing with it. If it works for everybody else it doesn't matter.

well i had adblock and it works fine with it (in chrome)

if you right click (or something, iu dunno if you have that feature) on the image to inspect element you should see on yours it reads

<a href="./memberlist.php?mode=viewprofile&amp;u=80"></a>

which is your profile

if the href isn't there surrounding the image then there is something with safari

I click through individual forums if they have new posts. I don't bother to click on certain ones.

I'm on the latest Safari on a MacBook with OS X Yosemite and when I click on someone's avatar it opens their profile page.

Why not just view active topics? There's never an overwhelming amount of them.
