For the love of God, why, WHY do we have to be subjected to the damn strawmen all the time? NO ONE is calling for bans of guns, man. This piece is trying to tear down some f**k strawman.

I'm sick of day-in-day-out here, Facebook, websites, everywhere, trying to claim removing guns won't help when no one is trying to ban guns. They're trying to ban a TYPE of gun. This TYPE of gun would be very difficult for these women to carry on the bus. I highly doubt they would buy this TYPE of gun but would rather carry a pistol for public protection. This article and scenarios are completely irrelevant to the issues being brought forth in America today.

Is there any hope of you guys actually addressing the topic at hand accurately? Any remote possibility, teeny one?

How many so called assault weapons are already out there? My guess, millions. A ban would probably be a bit to late. Same as banning high horsepower vehicles won't stop traffic deaths.

Irritating thing about banning a particular kind of rifle is that it is an ineffectual and meaningless thing to do.. These rifles are trivial in terms of gun violence. The very smallest slice of the pie. So of course...lets ban those.

Yes. Lets put some hurt on that first column from the left. Clearly we're screwed if we don't. Nevermind that actual "assault weapons" are an even tinier slice, when you remember that its an all inclusive measure of rifles.

So you've created this thread to discuss the ban in India? If so, this belongs on the international forum then. Or if you're addressing this to the one or two who do call for a total ban on guns here, then dedicate this thread to them specifically. Because the overwhelming majority here do NOT want a ban on guns. The government is not calling for a ban on guns. And no, I'm not overreacting. Every friggin thread here has "stories" of where a handgun helped someone then try to tear down this FAKE argument that the masses are NOT making. This is disinginuous and it's becoming out of control. I'm real happy these ladies need handguns. I agree. So what? This topic has zero relevancy to the discussion at hand that is taking place in America.

It's downright disinginuous what you guys are doing thread after thread after thread.... When will the strawmen end?
