self moderated thread option

there is should be an option for the OP to self moderate the threads they create to exclude extraneous noise and trolling from distracting from the point of discussion.

there are far too many porkchop posters here ruining valid discussion. If people do not want to participate in self moderated threads they can troll each other in the myriad of non moderated off subject porkchop threads that exist on this this site.

At least give people who are here to discuss politics in a rational manner the means to protect their threads from "troll to lock" attacks and mobbing by various partisan cliques. The current moderator scheme doesn't seem to be working, there are far too may trolls and sock puppets for new members to establish themselves or their ideas.

Case in point what? You would make a thread with an outlandish claim and delete anyone who posts evidence that you're wrong so discussion would be limited to reactions that assume your premise is true. That's not a real discussion.
