Uncertainty is merely an issue of inadequate resolution, it's not a quality of physical law. I think the technical details can be overcome with sufficiently advanced technology, theoretically at least. We will unlock the secrets of life at some point, I'm confident.

Of course I'm speaking about something farther in the future than just a few years. Although once some of this stuff starts happening people run with it and you never know where or how far it could go in a very short time. We may not ever be able to replicate biological organisms per se, but it is a pretty sure bet additive manufacturing processes are going to change things and I think this new breakthrough will be a big part of that.

Calicon, are you just interested in physics or is that your profession?

I was a physics major in undergrad, and I'm a grad student now in materials science. So, more knowledge than a layperson, but not enough to consider myself an expert on any subject in particular.
