Companies need to stop making hardware with zero defined purpose for it. This Google's constant issue where they develop a proof of concept and then just expect everyone to find great uses for it.

tech shouldn't have "betas". it doesn't work like that. if you build something like google glass and develop no practical applications to go along with it, it will fail. you have to force consumer demand for technological innovations. yes, obviously the prototype was a prototype. now they're going to start making the real version only this time there aren't any actual applications for it. they're in the same exact position; having a product and expecting other people to develop a use for it out of the gate.

The Google Glass Explorer cost $1500. Google had said that when it became commercially available, it would be much less expensive. For me Google Glass hit the wall, when determined to be unlawful to use when driving in Georgia. Gwinnett County writes more tickets for distracted driving than any other county in this state. Honestly, I thought google glass was amazing but after seeing that Black Mirror episode I want nothing to do with it and think it should be outlawed in any civil society.
