Samgsung can spin off all of its whacky consumer tech products and survive till the 23rd centuary with its monopoly of NAND production.

They got int hard and early into the SSD game, now literally the entire world (apple included) cannot afford to not buy from them. We are talking like something like 2-3 of 6 of all the worlds fab plants, most companies in the SSD market, buy Samsung chips, put on their own boards and market as theirs. Entry costs are so... f**k.... huge... not going to change.

Everything else is either an adventure or a misadventure. Least they are f**k trying to innovate, sure, horribly, but most major companies do not.

Apple has more money than god, but they go out fashion suddenly given they barely have a descent hardware designer in the company most of their even interesting stuff is just trying to catch up to ARM who are not a big company at.. all.. they are f**k quickly and might end up as a investment firm.

Google is retreating from its adventures back to its core search engine and analytic products and the failure of Glass appears to have really convinced their suits that safe is best.

Microsoft rides on market dominance alone and is scared shitless by people like AMD and Valve edging in on traditional monopoly territory (Graphics API's, consumer focused operating systems). They keep pinning their hopes on their next O.S iteration finally taking over the entire market. Idiots. Also Xbox has been disappointing.

Dell is f**k alienware is a major rider for them now (lululzululz).

HP has bet everything on the Machine being the next big thing in full stack servers.

Intel seems to barely understand its core market being budget focused. best gaming chips sure. But the money has ALLWAYS been in Xeons in server blades. And people care about costs most than quality, this intel does just, not understand.

IBM... uhhh... what do they even do again, my ex's dad could barely tell me and he's a senior manager.

Oh yeah and Sony, sure lets shead our money making enterprises to maintain our market dominance in hardware, becuase HARDWARE STRONK.

The entire tech industry and its major movers are f**k. Samgsung just f**k sucks at P.R, thats the only major difference.

Only one that's interesting, i've only tangentially mentioned is AMD. Yes HP's the machine might really work but only as a full stack server which consumers will never care about... Might... but AMD's Heterogeneous computing is when people learn to program for it.. the future now. Not to mention they keep on chipping away at Intels server dominance from the lower cost end, they get that X86-ARM system to work, going to sell like gangbusters.
