If you say sexual orientation is only toward gender then can only mean that some pedophiles are in fact homosexuals. Something you denied was a possibility earlier.

Firstly I have to disagree with lumping ephebophiles in as pedophiles. At that age the vast majority of adolescents are fertile and quite a significant amount are sexually active. I realize there's no solid line to demarcate when someone is pubescent, but I can view an adult sleeping with a 15 year old with more indifference than an 8 year old.

That said I do agree with the notion that compassion should be extended. I really am interested in seeing if fictionalized child porn (animation, CGI, young looking models) helps non-violent pedophiles with their anxiety, but try expressing that sentiment in public, especially as a teacher! I'd be canned. From what I've learned - which admittedly is still pretty scarce - most pedophiles try to seek out some child who at least assents to the sexual behavior. Pedophilia does not mean violent rapist.
