If everyone received a equitable living wage it would be far easier to create a system of unpaid public service, a system that actually served people.
Instead we approach this aspect of life such in a way where everyone loses except the sly.

there is no silver bullet. every system of government is flawed. it's a matter of trying to figure out the "least bad" reforms for the time. we live in an era of centralized and expansive power. the way to tackle problems like that are decentralization and limiting power.
