If I believe I'm black...I'm black!

A white woman has lied about her race and is the president of an NAACP chapter in Washington state.

http://news.yahoo.com/civil-rights-activist-rachel-dolezal-pretending-to-be-black--parents-say-142027280.html#

If it is accepted in society that a person can identify as the opposite sex why can't a person identify as another race? This woman clearly has deluded herself and falsified her ethnicity to become something she's not but clearly believes she is. Racial dysphoria I guess.

If society moves toward acceptance of this condition as a valid identifier will white people be able to mark African American on their college admission applications? Census questionnaire? Home loan application? Minority owned business assertion?

IMO we are moving in a direction of accepting a persons feelings in place of that person's reality. I hope she is seen as the fraud she is and feel sorry for her biological father whom she has discounted and replaced with a black man's image as her true father.

It might be a good time to remove all questions of race on all private, corporate, and government applications. Maybe gender as well.

well Elizabeth Warren claimed she was a "minority" native to get her job. but from what i can tell Warren has much more claim to that (although not much claim at all) than a woman who is just pretending lol

i agree with your premise jimmy. i find these postmodernist ideas are disturbing.

Idk man, I don't really see any difference with this and the whole trans movement. She's white but felt more comfortable as something else? Why can't people just respect that like they seem to respect transgendered people for their identity. She did a hell of a lot more for the black community than most black people anyway. Don't see why she is getting this sort of stick, incredibly hypocritical in my opinion.

Seems like every white guy in Oklahoma is 1/15th Cherokee.

I got halfass family that are whiter than bed sheets, and got Indian cards.

Nah, just proves you whiteys only see the kinked hair and tan skin.

Seriously though, she is super white. Still, not quite sure why her parents threw her to the wolves. I'd be hurt if my daughter did something like this, but I wouldn't take it to the media. That's inhumane.

It'll be interesting to see what comes of this. I have the feeling, if this were a guy, there would be no debate. He would be vilified off the face of the planet.
