No, marriage is not a religious thing, it's a legal thing. It's easy to get married without involving any sort of religious organization, but a religious ceremony alone without the legal hoops being jumped through is meaningless; Perhaps you meant "I wish marriage was a religious thing" or "I want marriage to be a religious thing", but it is not a religious thing.

Here is an idea - charge gays a 1 cent tax per year to get married. When it gets challenged they will win using the Obamacare argument - Gay marriage is not a right, it is a tax lol
