How much is the chicken worth versus the broth? Let's say I buy a bunch of chicken and boil them in herbs and seasoning. Then I scoop out the chicken and herb and seasoning and donate that to the homeless, but kept the broth, how much of the value of it can I claim as deduction for donation to charity?

Does it matter how long I boil the chicken for? The longer I boil the chicken, the more likely the good stuff will be in the soup.
