i know it's the director of barristan's death and the epic chase scene (why is he still a director) but he can only show what is written. oh goody, he is also directing episode 3 where we get to see danerys and jon snow together at last in the same scene. i wonder if we can contain just that much acting

i don't give a shit about spoilers on this i'm helping you: nothing happens. the entire episode could have just been the one part of it with the eunuch "having sex" with the hot chick. speaking of eunuchs, at least varys gets called out for his shit. sadly, he still has his head, because nothing of importance happened anywhere. oh wait, we find out what happened to hot pie: nothing. WHERE'S GENDRY? WHERE IS HE YOU SONS OF BITCHES

It really is terrible. This was maybe the worst episode of the entire series. The show...frankly sucks now. It's been on a sharp downhill trend since they ran out of source.

The dialogue is awful. Stilted, meaningless prattle. It used to be pretty good. The characters used to be interesting, their motivations were clear, the dialogue was solid. It was clever. There was life and vibrancy and wit. Now it's just a series of scenes where people I feel like I don't really even recognize or care about verbalize a bunch of cliches and cheap nothings. Even Tyrion just drawls stupidly. It's just bad acting, bad writing, and nobody cares.

Its basically a network TV show now. Edit out the superhot naked girl and some arterial blood spurts, and it could have been on NBC or Fox. They honestly aren't even trying. My god the editing was f**k lazy in that big "sea battle" sequence (where squared rigged sailing ships can simply go any direction they want). Half of it looked like rather incompetent green screen.

At least I got to see some Sand Snakes die. The only people I care less about than the f**k Iron Islanders.

I told him guys like two seasons ago they were phoning it in.

it's a damn shame what they did to it.

in 20 years the remake after the books are completed (live goddamn you george, live!) it will be better. that's if we're not sick to death of GoT. there are five pilots of spin offs in the works. actually we won't be "sick of game of thrones" but more like, they will continue down this path where schemes and machinations are discarded in favor of epic ice zombie fights brah

preston jacob's head may explode after all of this, so i'm looking forward to his review

i fully expect scenes to be spectacular looking. and people like that, sure, but the show became a hit off the writing of GRRM you f**k. B&B are not untalented writers but they cannot cope with the immensity of ASOIAF. Very few can. hell, george is having a hard time with it, because george likes to have things have triplicate meanings and have things be referenced in ways that require you to read the books 10 times before you start to bring it together

The dialogue was tight. The characters seemed themselves. That's what was really missing last week.
