Sort of? trump understands TV, understands his audience. He knew that in that giant, ridiculous field of GOP candidates lined up, he'd have to find some way to keep the cameras pointed at him...so every time it was some new stunt, some new insult, etc etc...and then the media is like, "What's trump going to do this time?" That's one thing trump deserves credit for...he was experienced at being a showman and waving his arms around to keep the cameras pointed his direction.

Its not as though "the media" set out to give him a boost. Its more that it was completely ludicrous that donald trump, whom the country has known as a scummy, classless, cartoon character with a weird combover for decades...was actually running for president? I mean, lolwtf, right?

I know they've been conditioning you for years to think of "the media" as some sort of homogenized monolithic cabal...but it's really not. They are just reactionary animals pointing cameras at whatever they think will get them the most views.

Trump was just boosted 10 points because of retards like Cuomo.

Also to be fair, calling some countries shitholes behind closed doors off camera isn't incorrect, they are shitholes.

I know you think you're making a point. But you aren't. Stop f**k making excuses for trump and trying to normalize this insipid stupidity, fstar! Christ.

Opinions about countries being shitholes is entirely irrelevant to the lack propriety (and basic human decency) of the POTUS actually drawing a contrast between countries in terms of shithole-ness along what are undeniably racial lines. This is a pattern of behavior that goes back decades and it is flatly moronic to pretend it is anything but exactly what it appears to be. It's a massive and completely fantastical stretch to excuse trump on this, given his history.

As I said. You have been programmed from a young age to believe "the media" is a vast international conspiracy. A cabal. Your behavior is like an if-then. Completely consistent and predictable.

Also, to be fair, calling trump a shithole on TV after he makes such a humiliating farce of himself and shames us all as Americans in front of the entire world isn't incorrect. He is a shithole.

Not normalizing anything here princess, I think if most of the media just ignored Trump you wouldn't have half of these problems.

So saying Sudan, a country that is majority african american, has been in civil war and has heavy ethnic cleansing, lack of GDP and economic growth and basic living standards is racist? Would you of been upset if he said these were nice countries? You do realize that saying a country sucks doesn't mean that the people suck right? Not to mention the fact that the Haiti statement has already been corrected and he didnt say to get them out in the context it was reported.

It's amazing you typed all of this without capital letters and screaming like a child. You do realize that being a libertarian or someone who basically hates government would sit here and hate the media the way you think I do. Literally, media, in itself is the single greatest protection from government whether it's someone like Trump or not. Saying I have all of this disdain and I'm brainwashed is silly considering the free media is beyond useful from protecting the citizens from government. The difference in my opinion over the media is that they suck at their jobs. It's the "if it bleeds, it reads" mentality that I hate. Someone like cuomo, who really sucks at his job is why people don't trust it.

It actually wasn't in front of the entire world, it was in a closed door session with lawmakers. He's still retarded but it's not like this was a planned speech for everyone to hear.

You mean...stop doing their jobs? The news media should just ignore the POTUS most the time? Over and over with you fstar, I see the same thing: You don't actually have a problem with trump or anything he's doing...you just howl really loudly that people are finding out about it. I mean, right now here you sit trying to make excuses for this shit. You're totally fine with it...but the "the media"...oh shit. There's the problem. If they'd mostly just call in sick and not report on it...everything would be okay. The problem isn't the shitty thing happening...the problem is that information is being disseminated. Right, Princess? (Sorry, did I do that right? I can't tell if your ad homs are actually dad jokes or not.)

So saying Sudan, a country that is majority african american, has been in civil war and has heavy ethnic cleansing, lack of GDP and economic growth and basic living standards is racist?

...where would you get that idea? Are you seriously not aware there there is no logical relationship between these two examples? Talking about a country's problems is one thing. Contrasting Haiti and Norway is very obviously a different issue altogether, especially when the whole thing amounts to calling the black countries "shitholes".

Seriously? Right over your head? All of that?

Would you of been upset if he said these were nice countries? You do realize that saying a country sucks doesn't mean that the people suck right? Not to mention the fact that the Haiti statement has already been corrected and he didnt say to get them out in the context it was reported.

Actually no, it hasn't been "corrected". It's entirely true. It was said in front of witnesses. You are simply believing trump's lies because that is what you do every damned time. If-Then, fstar. Or are you talking about one of the many other examples of trump's racist mouth running? :))

It's amazing you typed all of this without capital letters and screaming like a child. You do realize that being a libertarian or someone who basically hates government would sit here and hate the media the way you think I do. Fair enough, but in nearly every case of some ignorant trailer trash conservative whining about "bias" its because A: They don't know what bias is, or B: They are looking at editorialization and crying about it...because they don't know what editorialization is. Cuomo is a talking head on TV. He is being paid specifically to spout his opinion at cameras. He is doing exactly what he is meant to do, and there is nothing at all improper about it. These are human beings. What exactly is the sort of reaction you'd expect after something like this?

The most important function of media is to shine a light in the dark corners...to actively seek out the shit that's going down and report it. The idea that you have any respect for the value of the news media whatsoever is laughable when you repeatedly complain that everything would be better if the media would just shut up about it, or ignore what's happening.

It actually wasn't in front of the entire world, it was in a closed door session with lawmakers. He's still retarded but it's not like this was a planned speech for everyone to hear.

Oh god, this again. The problem isn't that it happened, it's that people found out about it. Right, fstar?

And yes, it was the whole world. You can tell because we're sitting here talking about it on the internet. Trump is just so f**k old and naive and blitheringly stupid that he thinks he can just shut a door and keep all his awful conduct super secret. Even the whore he paid off to the order of 6 figures has been outed. If he can't keep things like that quiet, what makes him think a room full of congressman from both sides of the aisle is going to keep his dirty laundry bagged up for him?

Just to reiterate...the status quo is that the POTUS get's busted paying off a whore to the order of six figures...and it's so normative that there are no consequences whatsoever.

And fstar is probably going to say that the media needs to shut up about it.

I mean tbf most white countries are decent and most African countries are shit. You could be picking random examples of good and bad countries and have it come out along racialized lines pretty easily.

Also western culture is superior and I don't have an issue with trying to preserve it through immigration policies favoring westerners and the talented. We can let in some poors from shithole countries too but not too many ideally.

Sure, but this is trump. Why try to explain it away?

Not quoting cultural relativism at you. The usual suspects don't like it. But still.

Spider simply does not have the ability to be able to assess these matters impartially, because he can't put aside his overall feelings about Trump. Everybody knows he is a racist, criminal pervert. You can't even hurt the guy by pointing this out - if anything, he'll get a boost for saying something that is just a matter of fact, plainly, in language that "the commoners" can relate too.

The actual impact of this news is to distract from what Trump does in favour of what Trump says. And if you haven't learned by now that what Trump says doesn't f**k matter, nobody can help you.
