I'm not assuming doom. I'm assuming continued decline in the material wealth of the vast bulk of people in America and Canada, following the same four-decade historical trend that you assume can be reversed by relying on inheritances from Boomers and a job market that actually pays well for the average person. I am also assuming that the trend towards greater wealth polarization continues, for at least as long as the Boomers stay alive.
Basically what is happening is that you are being a pie-in-the-sky, drugged-up, hallucinating optimist, ignoring dozens of trends that argue against your point, while accusing other people of being gloomy, even though all I'm doing is pointing to the historical record and known, present-day trends.

Kane, serious question tho. Before COVID, how low do you think unemployment really would have been if you didn't have millions of people who had given up on ever getting hired anywhere and instead were doing gig economy bullshit? Cause in my very non-scientific observation, it intuitively seemed to me that when unemployment was marked at about 4%, there were a ton of people who were doing that in an attempt to make ends meet and a bunch others working in helljobs like Amazon warehouses.
Maybe I'm misunderstanding you, but if these were the the abundance of jobs for which there were a shortage of workers, how exactly does that translate into prosperity? Unemployment numbers were very low but wages were not really going up.
Or if you're saying different, better jobs are going to be plentiful after COVID, please explain. And I hope your answer is not that Biden will secretly be FDR and do a giant public works job program, because come on man.
