Gotta get municipalities to start building more homes. Like now.
Supply is so constrained right now - time on market for a house in an east bay city I grew up in averages eight days right now.
Eight.

When i was in the market in NYC people would literally stand in line for showings. Occasional informal bidding wars with the realtor while on site.
It's crazy

I'm just glad I bought my home when I did, Christ. It'll be paid off in ten years and probably double in value because of people fleeing the city. I live two hours from Toronto and home prices here are skyrocketing because people are choosing to commute so they can buy a house. Just listened to a lady being interviewed the other day on CBC - she drives five hours a day to get to work.
That is a serious problem. Not just economically, but in terms of city planning, the environment and sprawl.

You guys need to buy houses elsewhere. $135,000 will get you a 3 bed 2 bath home with a garage just west of Cleveland. No waiting lines with buyers trying to outbid you either.
