Yea that type of shit pisses me off as well. It's a tacit admission you are doing a shitty job when you arn't willing to take ridiculous pay to meet simple metrics. Rhee is a hero though, shame that the f**k democrats let a bunch of union f**k push her out off office.

Also, f**k this society. As a student, it royally pisses me off that they hold back students for not passing standardized tests, but when it comes to measuring a teachers performance based on these same test, all of a sudden they arn't that accurate and its not fair etc etc. I honestly think that Teachers Unions are right up their with Al-Queda in terms of damage done to this country.

There are 3 countries on this planet that spend slightly more than we do on a given student, and a helluva lot more than three that significantly outclass us.

Money isn't the answer. Give students a nice building full of nice computers and good teachers, and the students will still write on the walls, will still porn out on the computers, and will absolutely break the spirit of idealistic teachers who were there to educate and wound up babysitting.

Students like this should be kicked out on their asses, and their parents held responsible. Then, with all the garbage back in its proper receptacle (the worthless parents), we'll see how academics does.

As I said before, I think they need to be moved into vocational training, rather than high school academics. The only people who need that stuff are people who are planning on continuing on to college. The people who don't end up in college rarely make use of it in any case.

I'm not suggesting dumping the chaff out on the sidewalk, I'm suggesting removing them from the situation where they can impede the academic learning of others. Use the funding that would have been wasted on failing to teach them geography and history and give them some applied skills instead.

Perhaps they'll willfully fail even at that. As was already mentioned, you can't make the horse drink. If the horse is particularly idiotic and wants to dehydrate, well, that's life. Hell with it.

What we need is to elevate the HS diploma back up to something that is earned, and is the fundamental building block of a successful life. The reason past generations succeeded in school was because the alternative was very unpleasant, and shameful. Now its as though life is a big soccer league and even the losers get a trophy.

f**k that. The losers need to lose, and publicly, so that those coming up can learn from their crap example and be motivated to achieve, by their parents, their community, and for their own sake.
