NSA Was Targeting France, Among Others

I am less concerned about the U.S. spying on foreigners that on U.S. domestic citizens. When I use gmail or any other internet service I am under the assumption that google and google staff may have access to my content but not the government. The government should need a subpoena to request information from private companies and these companies shouldn't be strong armed into giving over vast amounts of user data without a subpoena.
