I believe the point here is to provide false comfort to the GOP by convincing them that black people don't vote for them because black people will only vote for black people. Once you convince yourself of this, it makes it acceptable to alienate them at every turn because hey! They weren't gonna vote for you anyway!

Once you've bought into this then you can start using the same rationale for Latinos, gays, Asians, Muslims... and ouila! You lose elections!

And after you lose, you don't rethink this strategy, you lash out and claim there was some conspiracy by the liberal drive-by media to sandbag the GOP--i.e., the victim card.
