After watching cop videos I'm not even sure we resolved the issue of whether human should have human rights.
Sigmund Freud defined four parts of a psyche; the id, the ego, the superego and the stratego. The Stratego being the highest form of morality and scientific thinking.
If guns are not outlawed, the in-laws will have guns.

I'm not opposed to recognizing the rights of higher animals
animals are not objects, they are living beings and as such should be respected

but shouldn't a major focus of the human project be the development of a viable worldview and associated protocols?
