In America, socialism is for the 1 percent, capitalism for everyone else.
Discretionary spending makes up 70% of our economy. We can give tax breaks to Big Business all we want, remove regulations so they can "expand" (which, in and of itself, is bullshit), but we need to stop believing in that old baseball adage, "Build it and they will come." That metaphor worked in "Field of Dreams" because, well...it was FREE.
In REALITY, that's not how it works. It shouldn't take a f**k Seinfeld episode to teach supply-siders how the economy really works.

Ex is right and you guys are wrong. You STILL think that being called a socialist breaks some imaginary rule of American politics and is therefor disqualifying. But you believed that Trump broke multiple rules and was therefor doomed, and look what happened. The fact that Sanders would have defeated Trump further illustrates how wrong you are.
Going back to the primary when many of you cited this same thing about Sanders, I never doubted that you guys had points which were once valid. It was not very long ago at all when you all would have been correct. But things are changing, and quickly. As recently as 2008, endorsing gay marriage would have been political suicide. Now, it is not only accepted, but demanded of any Democrat running for President. But you guys are stuck in the past and, oddly, still insist on clinging to a losing model because it vaguely resembles a model that was a winner previously.

Yes, you are conflating support for universal health care and public education as socialism, much like Republicans do, and then saying there will be some horrible socialism-name-calling backlash against anyone who dares to support those policies - despite those policies being supported by the majority of Americans for two decades or more.
Can you try to operate outside their narrative for just one post?
TYIA.
