I still maintain that Nazis or anything remotely resembling Nazis are exceptions to the rules. They are like zombies. I seriously do not care what happens to them. Go nuts.

It is 1914 all over again. A global democratic peacekeeper in relative decline (UK => US). A new, autocratic superpower rises unchecked (Germany => China). A decaying autocratic empire plays cloak-and-dagger in its former colonies (Ottoman => Russian). Nihilist terrorism: check. Entangling alliances: check. And the ruling generation has no direct memory that war is hell.

I predict we will follow an ever more ruinous path until there is a neo-bolshevik uprising of the young against the boomers.

Just think how interesting it would be to read a history book today from around 2075.

I predict war before the year is out. Not full blown world war - just another front Trump opens up somewhere. North Korea? Iran? Or maybe he surprises everybody and goes to Africa/South America.

A prelude of things to come.

These politicians though, so many enablers. There's only so much the average joe can do and to witness Grassley pull this BS on the FBI? DOJ? Over f**k emails? To even suggest an investigation of Hilldawg is a responsible move at this point with this much partisanship?

It makes me see the world through the lens of Frank Miller. It truly is evil.

I have no problem with violence done against actual neo-Nazis, so long as it serves a higher purpose, and isn't simply about sucker punching someone for emotional gratification.

I was wholly opposed to any violence prior to Charlottesville. After, it seems sensible for anti-fascist resistance to preemptively engage in violence against Nazis in order to shutdown their rallies or at least intimidate them into peaceful behaviour, because otherwise, they will inevitably cause a greater amount of violence. It is pretty difficult for them to gather at any strength without beating on random minorities, and I'd rather protect one minority than ten Neo-Nazis.

It should be noted that this sort of violence is not really productive in the historical sense - street fights aren't going to prevent the rise of fascism. In fact, they may be counter-productive, because violence on the streets causes authoritarians to advocate for stricter measures and an assertion of authority through police violence. However, properly directed violence with a strategic goal in mind will at least keep people on the street safer, as the police cannot be trusted to fulfill this role anyways (they tend to despise all protestors equally).
