When I explain clearly the failings of your logic, you immediately jump to some other point, and this point is equally as stupid. If a politician doesn't pursue good policy because he wants to be re-elected, there is no point in voting for them. If a politician pursues good policy for selfish reasons, it doesn't matter. These are very basic, objectively sound points, and the reason why you are arguing against them is because you said several stupid things in a row, and are now acting in the same manner you always do when proven wrong.

Yes, as I said, stop voting. I'm not saying that to be mean, I'm saying that because your understanding of political strategy and tactics is actively harmful to your country, the moment it becomes meaningful by voting. Nobody cares if you're always wrong and never vote. The problem comes with always being wrong, and then influencing the outcome based on erroneous thinking.

Kane, do you remember when Obama and the Democrats fought tooth and and nail to get a complete piece of shit healthcare bill through Congress? They lost like 70 seats in the House just a few months after, because the healthcare bill was loathed by the public, and by the way, the program it created wasn't even remotely equipped to solve our healthcare problems and never had a prayer of being anything other than a failure.

So they can commit mass suicide with their political careers for that garbage, but even the slightest sign of a challenge when it comes to doing something that's actually good and would be insanely popular once enacted and these politicians just can't take the risk?

On the other hand, the 6 years of subsequent gridlock from GOP obstructionism followed by a fully GOP controlled government with Trump as President was, in a way, worth it, because of all those times the Democrats got to say to the Republicans "Ok then, what's your plan for healthcare???"

I understand the thinking behind the ACA, it is just too bad that the Centrist Democrats don't. They imagine they are being pragmatic, but they are actually missing the entire point of the law.

Obama didn't blow all of his capital on the ACA because he thought it would fix healthcare. He did it to allow Democrats to shape the battleground moving forward.

This was never about actually fixing healthcare. That has always been abundantly clear to anybody who has even the faintest inkling of political tactics.

It was instead about creating a situation where the Republicans would be forced to kick 20 million people off insurance in order to restore the old system.

It was, in other words, about removing options and shifting the debate, not about genuinely making things better for the American people. It was a purely tactical, allowing the Democrats to position themselves strategically by making the pursuit of a single payer system the only rational way to move forward.

Being total f**k morons, centrist Dems have never grasped this. They think the ACA is the end-game, when it was in fact a sacrificial pawn from the start, whose entire existence is to be either struck down (harming Republicans) or replaced by a better system (harming Republicans).

I don't even know why I have to explain this. Goddamnit Kane.
