I opened a coinbase account last winter for the hell of it. Someone told me they give you five bucks worth of bitcoin just for signing up... Pretty funny watching that five bucks bounce off $2. A lot of people crying in their ramen right now.

the funniest thing about coinbase is that it isn't a wallet that you own. coinbase owns your bitcoin, and custodially hold it... and bankruptcy proceedings would mean your investment is NOT yours. it has no protections like banks. that's why i was laughing about it https://i.redd.it/q4cyhftkmqy81.jpg

Some wild movement in the bond market today on the back of the Fed raising rates 0.75bps. Interestingly Bitcoin and most of other cryptocurrencies also saw support.

Really though FTX didn't have a single accountant and there was obviously zero compliance here lol. I imagine DOJ is attempting to determine if there are grounds for indictment right now.
