Anyway, lets spice this sub forum up a bit.

simple enough concept. Whats your favorite period of history and why, then we argue which one is better (which hopefully is slightly more commensurable than whats your favorite color, lets see eh?). Didn't want to put any arbitrary limits on it like '100 years' to allow for more flow. Thus, restoration England is as acceptable an answer as early ming china. At the same time if it is like a big stretch of time or in a large place so e.g. imperial japan. Try and bit a bit more specific.

To answer the OP question: I'd have to say 1860-1930. We are talking about massive, revolutionary changes in just about everything. Hard sciences, soft sciences, geopolitics, technology, etc.
