I mean the the struggle between fascism, communism, and whatever you wanna call our society. Both fascism and communism enjoyed widespread appeal prior to WWII, and the Cold War, even in the states.
Basically it was a struggle between the variant modern production philosophies, that is the true business of humanity, everything else is window dressing. Mass produced cheap crap is seemingly unbeatable.

Just a quick note on the use of 'England', could we please use the term UK or Britain unless your solely referring to England.
