It's easy to write it off as a hillbilly but everything except the shooting stuff has been put out there by national political figures/leaders for years now.
And of course right now we're predictably in the middle of this year's War on Christmas.
It just seems like we're moving backwards as a society, and people are using religion to rationalize their ignorance and as a transparent vehicle for hatred and bias.

Ya, but really, its most likely hillbillies who are actually swallowing this crap. Most of this sort of thing has been declining in public acceptance for a very long time. Its why we've got states legalizing gay marriage and such. The hillbillies are losing the battle.

The majority still has to be respectful to the minority. We don't have to actually do the crazy ass shit they push for, but the golden rule applies.
