I don't think it is the government trying to smear Snowden in this case. I think it's someone trying to leak the information because he/she thinks it's the right thing, but don't want to be hunted down.
Sigmund Freud defined four parts of a psyche; the id, the ego, the superego and the stratego. The Stratego being the highest form of morality and scientific thinking.
If guns are not outlawed, the in-laws will have guns.

The govts biggest fear is being exposed for possible crimminal activity. But it really don't matter because they are basically above the law nowdays.
The hardest part of doing nothing is knowing when your done.
