I hope the DHS gets abolished completely.

If the GOP wants funding they should probably stop stapling nonsense to the bill.

1. Make something politically impossible for the Dems to support.

The republicans have written in poison pills that they know the Democrats will not agree to. If the Republicans want dhs funded all they have to do is pass a clean bill.

The Democrats and President Obama may have to swallow that pill if they want to get funding. The power of the purse, you know. It could be interesting. Of course, the last time the government was in a partial shutdown, the republican capitulated when it became obvious the democrats just didn't care how long the shut down went on.

how is adding riders that the GOP knows the democrats won't accept the democrats fault?

The democrats have the option of letting it get voted on and going to the President's desk. He can always veto it.
