Well, I think ideas like having a locally established minimum living wage and increased unionism in the service industry are going to catch on, and that is going to happen via local politics on a municipal level. Really this kind of unionism is the only chance for people in the precariat class to get a piece of the pie for themselves. If people who find themselves in this situation, and their numbers are growing, don't band together they will be marginalized. It definitely helps for them to have official representation in government.
So it may not be that big of a deal, but it's still a step in a good direction and that's pretty cool. You gotta start somewhere.
