orbital platforms are kind of useless for the weapons we have. ICBMs are near impossible to shoot down already and the cost of supplying smaller, conventional missiles to a platform wouldn't be worth their damage output. the only cost-effective space weapon is a mass accelerator aka a rail gun and something like that would be massive and impossible to hide.

Its not really the carriers, its the rest of the fleet around them. And the air group.
For something that significant on orbit...it would have to be huge. It would be plainly visible with the naked eye, just like the ISS.

Definitely. I'd guess that replenishment rates are entirely meaningless compared to extraction rates.
