There is no valid way to measure an individual's economic contribution to society, because society's wealth is the product of a collective effort. Not only of the current generation but all the preceding generations that the current society stand upon. Thus the best way to reconcile individual needs with social needs is the abolition of wage slavery, state, markets, money, capitalism and private property and the installation of a system of voluntary associations, worker's councils, and direct democracy under egalitarian and non-hierarchical principles such as the common ownership of the means of production.
