Interesting write up that deals with a potential civil war. So what do you think would it play out as such or do you disagree?

Pretty much spot on with my assessment in a prior thread on this topic. Texas would sweep the midwest. Short of the nice tidy treaty at the end of the article, I think whoever holds the midwest is going to win the long-game. Food, nukes, and less population to carry through the extremely lean times that would occur if our food distribution network were to be disrupted for a lengthy period of time.

See I feel like Virginia could be the sleeper, if they were to manage to get a good chunk of the eastern seaboard specifically New York they could do some damage. DC and the financial capital would allow them to form the basis of the second union.

Economy would be meaningless until there is stability. It would be all about resources for the majority of the initial conflict. Those with the highest population density will be in the worst position as they deal with the logistics of feeding all those people.

Many states don't even produce their own power, so they will be significantly behind the curve. The only self-sustaining power grid I'm aware of is Texas.

California would have to take some states quick to keep the water flowing.

A group of evil tyrants modeled after Caesars Legion would take everything on that side of the Colorado River. They would be held in check only by a democratic government formed out of California, possibly called the New California Republic. The NCR would seize Hoover Dam and try to hold it. Both of them are susceptible to the threat posed by one wronged courier and his floating robot friend.
